If it’s not apparent already, I really am a bad blogger. I have the best of intentions, truly, but on beautiful sunny days there is so much more I would rather be doing than sitting at the computer. But, how else am I to keep everyone up to date on what I am up to? So, here it goes, I am trying to turn a new leaf and get back in blogging! And getting my site updated, it needs a little TLC with my slideshows and what not. I’m also earnestly trying to learn SEO and how make my blog a much better place for you, so bear with me, I’m trying hard!
Before I feature baby Gemma’s birth photos in the next post, I’d love to show you her newborn portraits first. I like to keep my newborn portraits simple and sweet, that’s why I call them Basic Baby sessions, because I’m not a prop junkie (lots of props I’d love to have but maybe one day when I’m in a studio) and just like to photograph the baby as they are. Gemma was 3 days old in these photos and I still can not get over her hair. When she was born, we were all surprised at all the hair that even the wonderful midwife (Suzanne Ryan of Midwives of Kansas City) was looking for baby shampoo! It’s amazing how a head full of hair can suddenly make a newborn baby look so much older. Just ask my mom too, I came out with as much hair as Gemma and it only got better!

Gemma was wide wide WIDE awake during her session at her house. The few pictures I have of her with her eyes closed she was blinking, no joke. She’s a girl who likes to be wrapped tight no matter the warmth and enjoyed keeping her fingers and toes tightly curled. Loved it. The yellow blanket she’s on I knitted by hand and was excited to be able to finally use it for a session! I think I’ll be making more, pretty easy to do, just finding the time. Hmmm, blogging or knitting….
God Bless,
Jessica
