I asked baby Gemma’s mom if she would write up a little something for me to share with my readers and potential clients about her experience with me as her birth photographer. These are the words that melted my heart!

“When I first thought about having our birth photographed, I was hesitant at the idea of having a photographer at the birth of our daughter. It’s so personal, and I was afraid I might be too embarrassed to have photos of such painful and vulnerable moments. I have always had natural births, and not all of them were very pretty! :) On the flip side, I knew we were planning on this being our last baby, so having beautiful photos to cherish the event would also be very special for our family.
So with some apprehension I made an appointment, and as soon as I met Jessica, I felt instantly at ease! She showed me samples of her work and they were so moving, as well as tasteful and discreet. I knew she wouldn’t take any photos that were unbecoming or unnecessary. And I cried. She was able to capture such emotional moments that I couldn’t imagine for myself yet, but was dying to experience as our baby was due in just a few short weeks.
When the big day finally arrived, it was Easter morning, and I was filled with excitement and peace all at the same time. I was going to finally get to meet my baby and see this precious new life on such a special holiday that also celebrates new life! Jessica met me at the birth center in a matter of minutes and she quietly blended into the scene as my labor progressed. I honestly didn’t even know where she was much of the time and even my midwife commented afterwards how well it worked out to have her discreetly taking photos of the birth. She was never “in the way” in any fashion and was remarkably able to capture angles and moments of our beautiful baby girl that I will cherish forever!
I would definitely recommend her without a hesitation to any family who’s wanting to remember this precious event! Her photography provided us beautiful photos with a superb quality that we wouldn’t have been able to capture in the stressful excitement of this momentous occasion.”
