As I am taking some much needed personal time off this summer from shooting, I am determined to get caught up on some blogging, a NEW portfolio site (which is going to be AH-MAZIN’!), my own personal photo albums, and mostly, just relaxing! As I was getting ready to design a baby album, I was inspired to share this session from our Mother’s Day mini sessions in May. This is of course the happy, bubbly, giggly, huggable, pinchable, oh so loveable TESS, her furry big bro Dozer, and their gorgeous momma Tori! On this particular day, Tess was officially 3 months old and her laugh, oh it is such a wonderful sound to hear! Tori booked this session to surprise hubby/daddy TJ for Father’s Day and as I write this, one of these images is happily framed on Daddy’s desk at work. Tori wasn’t sure how Dozer would cooperate, as staying still isn’t his most favorite thing to do, but luckily for us, I happened to be married a guy who could be known as the white Cesar Milan. I don’t know what is Daniel does, but he has a way with dogs (well all animals really, even cats who we don’t really like!) and they just are so calm around him. It was fun to see how surprised Tori was with how Dozer just did everything Daniel asked him to without even bribing him with treats. And I was so happy to be able to get the images that Tori so very much wanted to give to their knight in shining armor.

Tori and I bonded from Day 1 over our mutual mommyhood of our fur babies. Both Dozer and my Duke are tucked in every night (and throughout the night when they get cold, because they DO), both are spoken to and treated like real people (because they ARE), both love to be the center of attention, and both of them, despite their physical attribute of hugeness, think they are lap dogs (well, they ARE). So it is only right and respectful that Tess think of Dozer as her big brother. Next time you guys come out for pictures Tori, remind me to bring Daniel to entertain Dozer! Haha! But seriously…

You are so right Jessica, Dozer was my first “kid” long before Tess arrived. He’s taken to big brotherhood well, just like Duke will, I’m sure.
We love these photos and it captures a precious moment in time, Tess on her 3 month birthday and Dozer at almost his 11 year birthday. TJ has 2 framed photos on his desk, the first one is of him, holding Tess, at her newborn session, and the second is of Tess, Dozer and I from this shoot. We can’t thank you enough! I hope you’re enjoying your summer!
